History


Darren and Kim Verbout are the primary owners and operators of LytePoint Presentation Services.

The part-time business idea was hatched in
2005 and became officially registered in Southern California
shortly thereafter.

Initially the main focus was PowerPoint Design and Makeovers with the added benefit of video/audio capturing and inclusion.

Upon client requests, services expanded to include Multi-Media Slideshows using print and/or digital pictures from events such as weddings, reunions, anniversaries, memorial services, etc. Soon after, Video Editing was added to the list of services available. Darren's current employer (TCTI) hired him on a contract basis to coordinate the development of an Interactive Website . This broadened the original scope of LytePoint and opened up new opportunities and new skill development. In late 2006, the business relocated to Southern Washington where it now works to establish productive relationships with businesses and individuals in the Great Pacific Northwest.



Biography


Darren Verbout (Owner/Presentation Consultant) founded LytePoint Presentation Services in 2005. His objective was to create a family business where each member would have the opportunity to contribute in the ever-expanding world of multi-media.

In 1998, Darren began working for a sales and management consulting company, Excellence in Action located in Vancouver, Washington. While on a sales call, the company's owner handed Darren a laptop and directed him to experiment and develop a PowerPoint presentation for an upcoming client meeting. The novice result was rather "green" but nonetheless gave rise to a new career interest.

In 2000, after relocating to Southern California, Darren began working for an employee support services organization, The Counseling Team International (TCTI). His primary objective was to transform all of TCTI's training classes into professional PowerPoint presentations. In addition to the extensive overhaul, video and audio clips were digitally captured and inserted into the presentations. The work in progress continued and the list grew to over 80 classes with several variations to each class. In conjunction with this task, he was responsible for coordinating the Training Department and working with various instructors across the county. He coordinated over 700 training classes & conferences in 6 years and continued to improve the content and overall effectiveness of each class.

Between upgrading and maintaining the training and computer equipment, Darren also researched new class requests and worked directly with various emergency service departments and agencies in Southern California and abroad. His other responsibilities involved working directly with TCTI's webmaster updating website content and creating slideshows and other interactive features. Since relocating back to the Northwest, Darren has continued his relationship with TCTI on a contract basis providing consultation and direct presentation development.
